The Next Letter to Cornerstone RE: Coronavirus Resistance!
Dear Cornerstone family,
As efforts to assist health and government systems slow the spread of COVID-19 continue to develop, the elders and I have been in contact about the question of public meetings guidelines, recommendations, and requirements. None of us wants to react with fear, nor do we want to respond with presumptuous slowness to an event over which we have no control and can only navigate as people whose lives are entrusted in faith to our good and gracious and sovereign God, who blesses us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Wanting to serve Christ, our community, and our church family with the utmost faithfulness and love, we have reached the decision to postpone all onsite activities schedule for Cornerstone until Palm Sunday April 5, 2020. Sunday morning worship services will be broadcast to the Cornerstone website at www.cscchurch.com at 10:30 AM on Sundays. The morning services may look very different than usual, depending on who is available to participate.
We will continue to monitor developments and shorten or lengthen the implementation of this decision as necessary according to prevailing conditions.
Wednesday evening Bible study and members of Pastor’s adult Sunday school class can find the Steven Lawson DVD series, Foundations of Grace, available now at no cost at www.Ligonier.org for home viewing online. You can view the sessions online or download their free app to your phone.
Please consider maintaining your giving during this time as an act of worship. You can give online through the Cornerstone website, use the USPS, or drop your envelope off at the church. I will maintain office hours pretty much as usual. Should you need to take time to pray or have other errand to be in the building, please, just call first so we can maintain the necessary precautions.
Finally, would you please conscientiously pass this information along to others who have interest? We are using email, facebook, the website, and the prayer chain, but it is likely we will still miss someone. We will also post notices on the church door. Please help us pass this news along.
Pastor Dale
